Brucepoker.com are launching their National Pu Poker League which starts next week. They hope to have over 100 pubs/clubs taking part with each pub holding their own individual leagues over a 12 week period, all tying into a National League, the winner of which will win a trip for two to Las Vegas. €50 will be taken from the prizepool each night of the league, irrespective of numbers and this will go towards the Grand Final prizepool. The top 2 palyers in each league will qualify for the Grand Final in Dublin whic will have a prizepool of between €60 - €100,000. There is a thread on boards.ie explaining it all in much greater detail... www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055461693There will also be a seperate online league of which more later but i'm wondering what kind of interest there would be in this locally?? I'm going to run a Kiltimagh league starting next Friday night, January, 23rd. Any ideas for Claremorris?

I like the sound of it. If we're going to do it we have to have played the first round before next sunday. We have to decide whether to play 2 nights a week, our own league and the brucepoker one or run it in conjunction with our own league and take the 50 euro out of the prize pool. I'm not sure would a second night in the week work to be honest so I'd be in favour of doing it along with our own Thursday night game.
The biggest problem is that it has to start this week and we still have one round of our old league to play. Is it too late to reschedule the last round of the league to another night this week and start the new league this Thursday night?
I don't mind either way but if we want to join we have to act quick. If you have an opinion on this now is the time to speak up.

I like the sound of it muscles, sure why not run it in conjuction with the regular league and start this thursday night? I dont think runnning it on a seperate night would work, there is no point in over doing it. I dont think you would get many players for 2 nights of poker in the week.

I think we could start it this Thursday but then when do we play the final round of the current league? Would it be too short notice to play it tomorrow night?

I think we could start it this Thursday but then when do we play the final round of the current league? Would it be too short notice to play it tomorrow night? You could just let the points from this Thursday nights game count towards both leagues i.e. this Thursday nights game would be the final round of the regular league and the first round of the BrucePoker league. The next 9 weeks could then just count towards the BrucePoker league. As regards the €50, you could either take it from this weeks prizepool, or maybe take €55 out of the prizepool for the next 9 weeks instead of the €50

Ya, i think if we play the last round as normal this Thursday night and also have it coun as Round 1 of the brucepoker league. Re the €50, i'll cover that this week and from next week, take it from the prizepool. Round 2 of the bruce league will also be round 1 of our regular 15 week league. There will be two different scoring systems so might get a bit confusing at the start but it will beome clear as we go on, . Agreed?
