Probably should have posted this before the game but here goes anyway. Wondering about the reg. fee of E15 which I thought was a little excessive. I realise this event was fully dealered and appreciate that fully but was E15 into a E60 buy in justified? Was an enjoyable game as alway's though.

However it just wasnt viable, financially or in terms of time and effort to run fully dealered tournaments with a €10 reg fee. Apart from dealer's wages, added costs include travelling expenses for dealers plust the food provided at the break. This is no longer supplied free of charge by the hotel. Maybe i'm wrong but i doubt you will find too many tournaments around the countyr that are fully dealered with a €10 reg fee. I've checked and i havent come across any.

Just don't tell me any tales about paying Keiran overtime after yesterdays performance....

I have to agree Bob, I think it was probably a bit excessive, it was 25% of the buy in. I know dealers have to be paid and everything. If it was a €100+15 it wouldnt have seemed as bad. As I said, I appreciate that dealers have to be paid, but was there a need for dealers??...... In my opinion a dealer on the final table would be enough. Overall though, it was a good game... the 45 mins or so I saw of it!!!....

You def won't find many games around the country that are fully dealer dealt for a reg fee of €10 plus food at break. As muscles said its just not viable in terms of expenses etc.
I've had this discussion with my crowd and for a €100 freezeout I've given them the choice of having a €10 reg and dealer on the FT or a €15 reg and fully dealer dealt...and nearly everyone opted for the €10 reg. Not that they did'nt want to fork out an extra €5 for a dealer...its just they did'nt see the point. Most of them are quiet happy to deal until final table and they are well used to this from the weekly games anyways.

Speeds the game up no end and also eliminates any chance of cheating or dodgy play. It's ok having self deal at the weekly pub leagues where all the players know each other but in a game such as this where there were players from all over the county, having it self deal would not work i feel. Also, i think a self deal tourney would not attract players from outside the area leading to smaller fileds and prizepools. Personally i would never travel to a new venue to play in a self deal tourney.

I agree. Anything over a €100 freezeout and it should be fully dealer dealt. The Ladbrokes IPT is €100+€20 and no one bats an eyelid because its fully dealt and its a good organised game. Some might say that a €20 reg on a €100 game is abit much but again you have to take in all the potential costs involved with running a tournament like the IPT.

I personally wouldn't sacrifice the fully dealt for the sake of E5. Saves a lot of potential arguments. I accept this explaination but think it's a little stingy of the hotel not to put on even a few trays of sambo's. Incidentally, I was out for a f*g at one stage the last day and returned to find a hand just dealt. As I took my seat the action was coming on me. The dealer offered me my move but I declined mucking the cards. Anyone proud of my newfound respect for the rules???

IMO (for what its worth) i would gladly pay the E5 for a dealer. Speeds the game up and cuts out a lot of "messiness". I guarantee a lot of people who travel for these tourneys would not put up with the s**t that we often experience with self deal tourneys.
