Shoe on the other foot this time. Rasied in late pos. with Q5d having not played a hand for about 30 mins. Three callers and flop comes Q J 9os. Player in first position bets out folding the other two. I re-raise to find out how good my top pr is and just get flat called. Hit my second pr 5 on the turn. Not sure what happened next, I thought Dave checked but he insists he raised, either way I raised all in and he turned QJ, top 2 prs. He then proceeded to announce "You're gonna hit the five on the river, Bobby, I can feel it," and I did! Pretty sick giving that the full 5* treatment.

No, Dave bet out which folded the other two and I was last to act. That's why I re-raised with the Q, if he came over the top straight away I knew I'd be smashed. Which is why when the 5 came down I genuinely thought I was ahead. Think u were on the button actually Musc. I remember u saying on the night actually that the last time I raised SB was that hand, but I was definately last acting on all streets.

A quick summary of a few early exits. Eamon had AK v Gerry G AJ....Gerry hit an "improbable" J....I had trip 8s against gerry gutshot, Gerry hit an "improable" 10 for the straight, Enda had AK v Aj (I think) and your man hits an "improbable" J...Gerry Morley had Q10 v Scratchys QJ...flop 8AQ....J.... and an "improbable" K for Gerry on the river.....it went on and on!! Dodge might be right lol

The biggest problem that I am having with the 'Improbable's' at the moment is that they are all happening in crucial hands. T.B.H. I don't care awfully if I have 70,000 and AA if the other guy outdraws me with 77 and 2,500 in chips, it's very easy to say, 'Thats Poker' then. However, three hours into a game in a similar situation after grinding my way to double or treble my starting stack, when I get the chips all in whilst dominating in such a way against an opponent with three quarters or more of my starting stack, it feels like real injustice. However, THAT IS POKER, sick as it can be and we gotta content ourselves with knowing that if you get in ahead consistently, more often than not you will come out ahead. Sounds like a lot of nasty stuff happened Sunday after I went out Niall, think we should all put it down to a bad day. At least Enda will get to rib GG about how lucky he is the next night!

Humble pie! My JJ out drew Gerry's QQ with rnr, rnr J turn and river. Case for my defence; mid-late pos, 2 limps (incl. Gerry) and wake up with JJ. Only 10x BB so obviously I'm pushing to no raise. All others fold and GG calls(obviously also with my stack covered x4.) Quite sick but I believe it was my only play with the info I had. Was all in 6 times and only won that one and my AA vs Fish's QQ. Lost 3 races to under stacks and last one to overstack. Also have to admit split, my A-8 vs Scratchy A-9 s where we both flopped set A's Q kicker. J river gave split. Defence for that one is he called my all in, 15,000 (button) from S.B. with only 700 committed. In fairness though blinds were 700 1,500 and he was sitting on 12,400 so it was a reasonable gamble too.

My first official improbable beat post!!! Its not a bad beat just an improbable....Cant sleep so playing 1/2 cash on stars for about 3 hours..Build from $200 to about $330 (nice and steady) and then this....Im Super5onic by the way...Could you imagine a better flop or turn! Hes a good player so i put him on AK or AA (Amazing how we want to forget about the obvious lol). I push hard hoping for a nice pay day....

So this thread hasn't been active for a while, am I to assume I am the only one suffering!
Here's a really sick one I GAVE last night at the sisters home game.
1 and a half hours in and nobody out (the standard, even in home games in Knock is getting good) blinds are eating everyone. I'm short on 10,600 with 500/1,000 blinds. A call at this stage is nearly as good as a raise for most of these players. Pot comes into me with 1 limper and I look at 1st card Q and decide I'll push for fold EQ. My thinking is I'll chance the blinds and if the limper is gonna make a call I'm against a pair or a big A with live cards.
Blinds duly fold and limper calls.
Bob says 'I don't mind as long as u don't have a Q'.
Limper turns AQ, pretty sick at this stage of the game limping wit that.
Bob turns his kicker, a fantastic 4!
Flop misses, turn misses.
Dealer decides it to hand me the river face down to turn my own fate and lo and behold I find it is the 4c, giving me the pot with a pr of 4's.
Now this is a sick beat but if the guy raises pre flop, I look and fold Q4 and try to find a better spot. So everyone in the house rips into me and tells me I'm nuts to do this.

I go on and finish 2nd for a decent cash (15 players) and tell them all 'I'm nuts' and 'take advantage of it next time!!!'
