I came up with this shortlist from either exceptional performance in any given League this year or consistent League finishes. Unfortunately I couldn't justify putting myself on the shortlist Refer to thread to find the poll.

Has to be Nicky or Dave for me out of that list, went for Nicky, 5 wins out of 12 weeks in this league is no mean feat.
Btw I think Aidan Bennett should be included in the poll, he's my tip to take the title this time. He has been in the top 4 in 7 out of 11 rounds.

There's no doubt that Aiden has the class to be on the list. I only omitted him because he really has only been playing at this venue for a league and a half. Player of the year should reflect the majority of the year. I strongly suspect that Aiden will be among the frontrunners in 12 months time.
It's probably Nicky for me. The only thing going against him is not playing the first league this year. Third place in the Summer league (with bubble in the final) and a strong lead in the current campaign stand to him though. It's a shame DC couldn't defend as he'd have been almost a certainty with a top ten this time around.
Of the remaining contenders all but one have top 10'd in every League. This sort of yearly consistency deserves a mention, IMHO.
The final player started the year in a blaze of glory only to have a midyear dip in form(luck?) before rallying again recently with reasonable(ish) results.

I would say it has to be Nicky. He has been the most consistant player this year. Dave deserves to be mentioned, but he hasnt played enough to be considered the top player for the year, and the same must be said for Aiden Bennett.
