Muscles, with the new league starting this Thursday night, is there any chance we can go back to using the old chip denominations. The new format tilts me beyond belief!

some tilt u got more points in this league than ever before but i would agree it would be better playing an 8k stack and starting at 25 50 as most tourneys do

Doesnt make any difference to me. New format was way handier for chipping up etc and also i think the bigger stack makes it more attractive for new younger players who am hoping to get playing. To be honest, i can't see what the problem is?? See what players think tomorrow night, ok?

The standard system throughout the world is blinds starting at 25/50 and a 10k(ish) starting stack, I don’t see why we should be any different. It also gets new players into better betting habits right from the start and when they do step up to bigger tournaments at least they will be used to the bet sizes. It’s not the end of the world if we keep them the way they are but I think it would be easier all round if we stuck with the accepted norm. Also if they are reading theory threads for tips it would make it far easier to relate to the advice given if they were playing with the same denominations.
If we are going to change back we should do it before the start of the league tomorrow night as it would only confuse matters to change it mid way through the league.
Opinions?

Sorry but there is no standard system throughout the world and no standard starting stack. Many tournaments now start at 50/100 and skip ther 75/150 level. As for being benefiacial to new players?? If new players can't get to grips with pot size v bb, average stack v bb etc then thats their problem but i can't t see why changing the stack will help them. As i say i don't mind either way, but from what i have heard from players since introducing the new system, is that they prefer it.

hello there everyone, we had discussed this ages ago, i cant remember if was before this league or the winter one(i think the winter one), and i thought we had decided we would go back to 8k and start blinds 25/50. i know we might sound like fussy f***ers but i did prefer the old way. suggestion: play tomorrow night as just a 25 + 5 freezeout and not first round of the league, this will allow students and leaving certs not to miss too many rounds if they want to play summer league. put up a poll on this forum asking simply which do you prefer and hopefully get some feedback from it, it'll give us an extra week to decide.... ??

I was just going to suggest a poll should have been set up recently for feedback. Great minds Joe! I personally don't have a preferance for either system as I lose as easily on both.

New league will have to start tomorrow. It has been advertised as such and is in the lcoal papers etc. For this league how about altering thepoints system, based on the bruce league, i.e. points won each night x the number of players. Thoughts??? See what players want tomorrow night?? No point putting up a poll cos no will respond.
